Shirley Bass Crouch, 89, of Marmaduke, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She is the daughter of the late William and Sarah Crawford-Bass. She was a charter member of Marmaduke First General Baptist Church where she played piano for many years.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell B. Crouch; brothers, John Wesley Bass, William Roland “Sam” Bass; sisters, Ila Hudson, Willie Mae Dooley; and granddaughter, Melana McMillon.
Survivors include her children, Mona (Jim) McMillon of Paragould, Sherry (David) Hensley of Marmaduke; grandchildren, Daniel (Cristy) Hensley of Marmaduke, Shawna (Chris) Grooms of Paragould, Sarah (Bobby) Hodge of Lake Cormorant, MS; seven great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Edna Doss of Columbus, MS and Esther Marie Hastings of Gurdon, AR.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 4, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, February 5, at 10:00 a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hargrave and Daniel Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Cudd Cemetery.
C.J. Slatton, Bobby Hodge, Daniel Hensley, Chris Grooms, Garrett Hensley, and Blaine Grooms will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Brad Hoyer and Brad Whitaker.
