Sue Hatler Obituary

Sue Caroyln Hatler, 82, of Paragould, passed away peacefully at Greene Acres Nursing Home on Thursday, January 12, 2023. She was born June 7, 1940, to Virgil and Virginia Lindley. She was born and raised in Greene County, Arkansas. Sue was a loving grandmother and was a giving friend to all of the people in the communities where she lived.  After graduation, Sue moved to Santa Barbara, California, and married Lee Hatler. Sue worked in the cafeteria at Goleta Valley Junior High School and Elwood Elementary School. She also worked as a crossing guard for Elwood Grade School in Goleta, California. Sue was known for making friends everywhere she went, as the Avon lady who covered all of Goleta and Santa Barbara making friends. One of Sue’s last roles in her community was providing delicious jams, jellies, and baked goods along with her husband Lee. His barbecue rubs and hooks always put smiles on hundreds of people’s faces. Including the local farmers market in Goleta, Santa Barbara, and the Carpinteria area. Sue and Lee then moved back to Paragould three years ago to enjoy their retirement years together.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Hatler; son, Chris (Lisa) Hatler; and grandchildren, Erika, Maisie, and Jacob.
