Verna Marie (Finley) Pace

Verna Pace, 66, of Marmaduke, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro.  She was born June 5, 1952, to Vernon Cecil Finley and Helen McCabe Williams. Verna enjoyed going shopping, going to yard sales, thrift stores and anywhere else she could find a bargain. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granchildren.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jim Pace; one sister, Francis Alford; father, Vernon Finley; and stepfather, Joe Williams.

Survivors include her two sons, Jimmy Pace (Petina) of Paragould, Marshall Pace (Melody Bryson) of Paragould; three daughters, Regena Bishop (Gary Holland) of Jonesboro, Myra Hampton (Rodney) of Marmaduke, Shana Horton (Jeremy) of Marmaduke; mother, Helen Williams of Marmaduke; brother, Junior Finley (Pam) of Springfield, MO; sister, Darlene Manes (George) of Marmaduke; grandchildren, Chance Pace, Drew, Lance and Whitney Bishop, Allison Hyde, Reesa Hampton, Bryson and Bradley Horton, Lane Pace, Madalyn Bryson, Rashawn Stringer, Dalton Cole; and great-grandchildren, Kaedyn, Kennedy, Kane, Emmy and Jaxon.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 23, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Rodney Hampton officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery.

Verna’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
