Wayne Pruett

R. Wayne Pruett, 93, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022.  He was born April 7, 1929, in Rector, to Amos and Anna Pruett.  Wayne was a Korean War Veteran.  He was employed by Frolic Footwear for 30 years before retirement.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing and hunting.  Wayne was a preacher, song leader, and an elder of the Leachville Church of Christ for many years.  After moving to Paragould, he was a member of Commisary Church of Christ. Above all, Wayne loved God and his family.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Veona Pruett; second wife, Violet Pruett; daughter, Debbie Stokes; and brother, Laverne Pruett.

Survivors include his sons, Randy Pruett (Paula) of Little Rock, AR, David Marshall of Texarkana, AR, and Randy Marshall of Bismark, AR; daughter, Dana Dunkerson of Black Oak, AR; son-in-law, Dan Stokes (Robin); sisters, Nelda Chadwick and Nita Thompson; grandchildren, Danna, Danny, Jana, Jonathan, and Dustyn; great-grandchildren, Jace, Ty, Sophie, Maddie, Eliza, and Avery; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 16, from noon until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Tim Bassing and Art Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery.

Jeff Ramsey, Larry Dunkerson, Mike Smith, Michael Watson, Jonathan Pruett, and Danny Stokes will serve as pallbearers. Larry Brooks will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Lasting memorials may be made to the Children’s Home of Paragould.
